DR. ALBIN PERFORMS LIPOSUCTION
ON APPROXIMATELY 100 PATIENTS EACH YEAR
Liposuction is one of the most frequently performed cosmetic surgery procedure done
in NON-accredited surgical facilities by NON ABPS-certified surgeons ignoring safety and the status of your health for speed
and cost cutting. These shortcuts account
for its“NOTORIETY”. In fact, it
is a very safe cosmetic procedure when done properly.
Liposuction (Fat Suction) – removes extra
fatty tissue to IMPROVE the CONTOUR of an area, including most commonly, hips, thighs, abdomen, waistline/love handles, arms,
and neck. It is designed to re-contour an area by removing unwanted fat cells
with a very thin cannula (tube) through a small incision placed in an inconspicuous area. It
is NOT designed for weight loss and should be performed when you are at a REALISTIC weight that can be MAINTAINED.
New techniques minimize contour irregularities. Ultrasonic-assisted liposuction (UAL) is the newest modification, using ultrasound rather
than mechanical force to break up and liquefy the fat. It is gentler with far
less blood loss than traditional or tumescent liposuction and is very useful for large volume liposuction or areas having
fibrous fatty tissue, such as a man’s love handles or a woman’s thighs and back. Dr.
Albin is considered one of the pioneers of large-volume and ultrasonic liposuction.
People sometimes think they need a ‘tummy
tuck’ while essentially all of the problems of a ‘bulging tummy’ generally can be improved with less invasive
liposuction alone. If the goal is as flat a tummy as possible, liposuction usually
is the proper procedure. A real tummy tuck involves a much longer scar and recovery
and is appropriate if a significant amount of overhanging skin needs to be removed, as may occur when someone loses a large
amount of weight.
